Are you an experienced environmental services professional looking for a leadership role where you can shape a team and manage a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and transportation projects? We are seeking a collaborative leader who can anticipate and mitigate environmental risks to ensure sustainable project delivery on behalf of our client- a dynamic, multidisciplinary team focused on delivering sustainable infrastructure solutions across British Columbia.
About the Role
Project Management and Business Development :
Lead a team delivering environmental services both internally and externally.
Represent our firm at industry events, expanding and promoting our environmental services across the region.
Set strategic direction for the environmental services business unit.
Provide expertise in environmental regulatory approvals, permits, and authorizations.
Manage multidisciplinary projects across British Columbia, adhering to budgets and quality standards.
Develop proposals, including project scope, schedules, and fees.
Prepare reports, mitigation strategies, and regulatory applications, with strong knowledge of the Water Sustainability Act, DFO Request for Reviews, and other regulatory submissions.
Technical Expertise and Reporting :
Conduct research and prepare technical reports.
Lead the preparation of Environmental Assessments (EA), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), and other regulatory applications.
Prepare environmental management plans, mitigation and offsetting designs.
Design and implement study plans for field investigations related to aquatic, terrestrial, wetland, and vegetation ecosystems.
Coordinate environmental assessments and develop project tender specifications.
Mentorship and Team Leadership :
Guide and mentor biologists, environmental scientists, and technicians on project delivery.
Supervise, coordinate, and support team members, fostering a collaborative environment.
About You
Qualifications :
Bachelor of Science in biology, aquatic biology, zoology, botany, environmental science, forestry, environmental engineering, or a related field.
Registered or eligible for registration as an R.P.Bio.
A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in environmental impact assessment processes and methods.
Demonstrated leadership experience, whether in formal roles or mentoring capacities.
Familiarity with municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulatory review processes.
Proficiency in quantitative environmental assessment methods, including vegetation, wildlife, water quality, and fish habitat assessments.
Preferred :
Experience in environmental consulting within British Columbia, particularly on civil engineering projects.
