You as a Cost Accountant will:

• Create, configure, and monitor projects in Project Management System and Financial Management System in compliance with the prime contract and company policies
• Monitor and provide guidance to project financial activities (contracts, change management, Purchase Orders, client billing, subcontract payments, and forecasting) in accordance with company best practices
• Full cycle accounting; including assist with monthly billings, A/R collection, invoice entry, journal entries, ledger reconciliations, cash flow management
• Assists with completion of weekly, monthly, yearly adjustments, submittals and reports
• Provides reports and documents to parental company as required
• Support legal and insurance department on claims and cost recovery as required

Is this the right role for you?

• Two to three years of relevant accounting experience in a construction environment or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
• You could correctly identify financial situations and produce logical solutions to support a project team/business area
• You demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills as well as a keen willingness to work in an open concept and joint venture environment
• You demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
• You should be proficient with Microsoft Office Product (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); it would be an asset if you have experience with insight data analytics applications
• You have experience working with a variety of accounting software
• You have post-secondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, or Accounting
