We are currently seeking a Financial Controller to join our team. Reporting to the Director Financial Control - North America, the successful candidate is responsible for the financial control activities of our Canadian arm. The main goal is to ensure accurate financial reporting, accounting policies compliances, and continuous finance process optimization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily :

  • Manage all aspects of accounting functions for Canada.
  • Responsible for accuracy of G / L and Financial Statements
  • Lead and support on tax reporting, Internal and External audits
  • Work in partnership with business units for risk controls and compliances with IFRS and company policies
  • Work with HQ and Shared Services on continuous process improvements
  • Responsible for timely and quality closes for month-end and Year-end
  • Collaboration across our global organization to support internal accounting needs
  • Lead other special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Eight (8) years experience in Financial Accounting, 3 years team leadership experience.
  • Experience in public accounting preferred
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, Excel, Power Point

  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This role will manage a Financial Analyst. As a manager, this role is expected to carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and providing constructive feedback; addressing concerns and resolving problems.
