Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform duties in the Microbiology Laboratory, including specimen receipt, handling, sample preparation, equipment maintenance, dispatching tests, result entry, inventory management, and communication with health professionals.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Laboratory Assistant course or working towards a Medical Laboratory Technologist program.
  • OSMT or CSMLS certification preferred.
  • Experience with quality assurance and good laboratory practices.
  • Recent experience in a Microbiology Laboratory.
  • Knowledge of Molecular techniques is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance.
