Position : Logistics Coordinator (intermodal or ground transport)

Industry : Transportation & Logistics - LTL, FTL, Cross-Border, Warehousing

We are seeking a highly motivated Logistics Coordinator for one of Canada’s largest transportation companies. This role is based in Port Coquitlam, BC, and requires a strong background in logistics and transportation, including experience with LTL, FTL, and cross-border shipping.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Negotiate freight rates with carriers for domestic and cross-border TL and LTL shipments.
  • Source and manage carrier relationships, ensuring top service and pricing.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily shipments, tracking and tracing loads from pickup to delivery.
  • Liaise with customers and carriers to facilitate timely and efficient transportation services.
  • Ensure the Transportation Management System (TMS) is up-to-date with accurate shipment data.
  • Respond to customer requests and issues with urgency and attention to detail.
  • Handle any shipment delays, security issues, or other challenges promptly.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Assist in margin improvement through cost management and optimization strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on rates, pricing, and carrier qualifications.

Qualifications :

  • Experience in logistics coordination, with a focus on cross-border full-truckload (FTL) and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipping.
  • Previous experience in a third-party logistics (3PL) or transportation brokerage role.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with carriers and customers.
