ETL Developer

Job Description

• Develop, implement, and maintain ETL processes using IBM InfoSphere DataStage and Cognos Data Manager.
• Design and optimize relational database structures to support business intelligence and reporting needs.
• Conduct requirements analysis and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Perform logical and physical data modeling to enhance data integration and reporting capabilities.
• Utilize technical testing techniques and tools to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to provide technical solutions that address organizational needs.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation and reports to support data management processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues using SQL Server and other relevant tools.
• Work with IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Technologies (Report Studio, Framework Manager, Transformer, and Query Studio) to develop and maintain reporting solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational policies.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members in data management best practices.

• Minimum of eight years of related experience and knowledge.
• Recent experience working with Cognos Data Manager.
• At least five years of experience with IBM InfoSphere DataStage.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts and design.
• Expertise in logical and physical data modeling.
• Proficiency in technical testing techniques and tools.
• Strong requirements analysis and technical design skills.
• Excellent technical writing skills for documentation and reports.
• Ability to translate business questions and requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Demonstrated ability in technical problem-solving and analytical tools and techniques.
• Experience with SQL Server.
• Reliability security clearance is required.

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience in a leadership or mentorship role within a data management team.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions and integration.
• Certification in IBM Cognos or DataStage technologies.
• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
• Experience with IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Technologies, including Report Studio, Framework Manager, Transformer, and Query Studio.
