The Partner, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a highly skilled and experienced professional within the investment management industry, responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the company’s budgets, forecasts, long and short-term financial plans, financial models and analysis, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, involved in collaborating directly with various levels of stakeholders and will act as the primary interface with Hazelview’s leadership team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the financial planning processes, including strategic financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and analytics.
  • Provide strategic support by developing financial models, identifying financial risks and opportunities, and making recommendations.
  • Improve and maintain metrics and KPIs, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and the company’s strategic plan.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and working capital effectiveness.
  • Communication and Reporting

  • Own the preparation of financial reports and metrics to stakeholders, highlighting key trends, variances, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead and prepare reports for investors, due diligence, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Leadership and Collaboration

  • Partner with the leadership team and other stakeholders to provide accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis to support decision-making with financial modeling and analysis.
  • Provide leadership on technical accounting issues and implementation of new accounting standards and leading practices.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Operational Efficiency

  • Act as a leader and advocate for operational efficiency within the organization. Champion operational efficiency by promoting best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Generate and propose innovative ideas and initiatives to drive operational efficiency, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.
  • Compliance & Standards

  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and leading industry practices and trends.
  • Recommend appropriate action to ensure compliance and leading industry practices.
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance or Accounting.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls, preferably with an Investment Manager.
  • CPA or other relevant certifications are required, and membership in relevant industry associations is considered an asset.
  • Qualifications :

  • Expert financial modeling skills with a proven understanding of key standards and metrics to measure financial performance, preferably with an Investment Manager.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, project management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders as a trusted business partner.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong bias for action, willing and capable of rolling up their sleeves to implement solutions and exercise judgment, critical thinking, and balance risks when making decisions.
  • Organized with an ability to implement systems and processes to bring structure to a function while retaining the flexibility required to manage effectively in a business undergoing growth and change.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, as well as accounting software, ERPs, and other financial systems.
  • Awareness of leading industry practices and regulatory compliance (e.g., National Instruments).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
