Job description

XTL Transport Inc.  is looking for a Shipper Logistics Planner at our Toronto Terminal to become a part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is self-motivated, has strong analytical and computer skills, strong attention to detail and is enthusiastic to work in a customer-centric environment.

Responsibilities :

1. Interaction with customers

  • Daily interaction with existing customers to deepen relationship and ensure supply of freight.
  • On-boarding of new customers, assist in creating SOP's.
  • Generate and analyze service and volume reports .
  • Participate in monthly / quarterly level service meetings.
  • Answer inquires and find solutions to problems regarding shipments.
  • Manage EDI and order entry.
  • Schedule pick ups and delivery of shipments .

2. Interaction with Sales

  • Regular interaction to share operational insight regarding customers with respective sales rep.
  • Work together to identify, develop and execute new opportunities within existing customer base.
  • 3. Interaction with Colleagues

  • Be the driving force in a team of 4.
  • Collaborative interaction with carrier and junior logistics planners.

  • Targets :

  • Must manage a minimum of 135 loads per periods - ideal target is 150 or more.
  • Report weekly on volume, revenue, service and margin for each customer.
  • Must be to detail any volume deviations.
  • Ensure EDI compliance is 100%
  • Business development : Minimum of weekly interaction with controlling customers.
  • Skills & Abilities :

  • Must be eager, up for new challenges, and not willing to settle.
  • Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor.
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication and decision making skills.
  • Self-starter with good judgment, well organized, professional and detail oriented individual.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage priorities, meet deadlines, work under pressure and take on additional tasks.
  • Strong Customer service experience.
  • Strong work ethic with focus on results.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Logistics and / or Transport is preferred
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Able to work in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision.
  • Able to cultivate strong relationships with customers.
  • Work Environment :

  • Ability to work well under pressure and dealing with multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision.
