The mental health team at CFB Halifax is seeking a part-time psychiatrist to join the team and provide mental health support to serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces. The level of effort available requires a minimum of 2 days as week commitment and up to 3.5 days a week is available.

Assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of mental health conditions for CAF membersPsychiatry consultation services to Canadian Armed Forces personnelAdvises on the outsourcing of psychiatry services to alternative providersParticipates as a member of the multidisciplinary mental health team in case reviewsPrepares detailed written psychiatric assessment reports on referred patients, including recommendations for a treatment plan, and participates in the implementation of the treatment plan by providing psychotherapy, prescribing appropriate somatic therapy and generating patient medical records to support the multidisciplinary teamProvides expert advice on mental illness or disorders to primary care providers to assist them in the identification, diagnosis and treatment of patients with mental health disordersCreates and maintains patient recordsMandatory Qualifications
