Position : Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer for a great client in the manufacturing industry located in the Concord area. As a Manufacturing Engineer , you will be responsible for helping to design and implement systems and procedures to ensure efficiency, cost effectiveness, productivity, capabilities, and sustainability all with safety in mind.
Key Responsibilities :
- Identify, propose, and implement process refinements, enhancements, and continuous improvements to streamline the manufacturing process and improve overall efficiency
- Champion capex and other cost saving and continuous improvement projects, through all planning, execution, and commissioning phases
- Ensure compliance and perform all duties in accordance with all safety and environmental rules and regulations, including ISO14001 procedures and continuous improvement expectations
- Research and analyze materials, tools, fixtures, and processes required to manufacture product in the most efficient manner
- Identify cost extraction opportunities involving labor, direct and indirect materials, etc.
- Develop, design and document projects for tools, fixtures, and production aids to improve manufacturing efficiencies
- Design manufacturing cell layouts to remove bottlenecks, improve throughput, etc. through application of lean fundamentals and tools to plan line balancing, standard work, product family assignment, work content timing, cell layout, material flow efficiency, continuous flow optimization and equipment utilization
- Perform special assignments and projects as assigned
- Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees
- Assure compliance and adherence to federal, provincial, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws
Required Qualifications & Skills :
Post-secondary degree (engineering) e.g. Manufacturing engineeringP. Eng designation or candidates working towards designation are preferredMinimum 5 years relevant manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentMust be able to read and understand architectural product drawingWorking knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean principlesProficient communication skills, both verbal and writtenExcellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, follow-up and a high comfort level balancing multiple priorities or projects simultaneouslyMust excel working in a fast-paced environmentExperience working in metal fabrication or the hollow metal / door industry is an assetFlexibility to work on Afternoon shifts occasionally for special key projectsTo apply, please send your resume to Vanessa Tran at vanessa.tran@quantum.ca.
