Senior Project Manager

Heavy Civil, Deep Foundations, Water / Sewer Construction

$160-$180K - negotiable - based on experience

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable Civil Construction Contractor based in GTA. Our client is well established with a portfolio of high-profile projects extending through the province.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Degree in civil Engineering or Engineering tech, strong technical knowledge
Minimum 15 years progressing in construction, experienced in managing Water / Sewer Projects
Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal, online
Exceptional claims / extras management experience
Demonstrated commitment to your team and the aims and goals of the company
Demonstrated experience in cost savings on project delivery
Demonstrated experience developing customer focused client relationships
Keen sense of foresight and versatility and a track record for creative problem solving

WHAT'S REQUIRED

Manage, lead and control projects from start to finish, including staff, sub-contractors performing staff assignments and job management.

Develop, author and collaborate on budgets for designs, methodologies, submittals and schedules.

Maintain and enforce high standards for health and safety on all project sites

Financial acumen to manage a project P&L statement

Exceptional claims / extras management experience

Maximize production efficiencies and develop consistent and creative means and methods to remove barriers to productivity to increase, add value and save costs on projects.

Develop and deliver quality projects reliably, sustainably and environmentally focused

Coach and mentor team members to foster a culture of betterment of the business and individuals who work within the business

The management of the complete project lifecycle from pre-bid planning, operations planning, submittal documentation, daily work efforts, billing / payment certificates and project closeout.

Develop plans to maximize margins, and ensure the companies interests are foremost during the project lifecycle. Change management and cost control are routine and evident in your work.

Prepare costing and manage expenses, estimates and vendor agreements and sub trade selection.

Manage all aspects related to daily production, production issues, extra claims management and related time and material cost management.

Project lifecycle management for works related to trenchless and general construction operations on multiple projects

Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution, often taking the lead on solving these problems.

Detail oriented and constantly looking at ways to improve the process and maximize production efficiencies.

A firm understanding of water / sewer construction and clearly articulate needs, issues and production concerns.

Create and develop innovate solutions to make processes efficient, safer and more productive
