Job description

Reporting to the Manager of Product Development, the Product Developer will be an integral member of our cross-functional team, working closely with Product Managers, R&D, Product Management Operations, Vendor Management, and suppliers. The Product Developer will lead the design and development of electronic and mechatronic products, ensuring they align with our approved Product Family / Category roadmaps. This role requires a deep understanding of both electrical and mechanical principles, as well as a strong commitment to delivering products that meet quality regulations and manufacturing standards.

What you will be responsible for :

High-Level Product Design and Documentation

  • Design and develop electrical and mechanical products across all categories.
  • Create product requirement documents, define verification criteria, and document validation protocols.
  • Maintain process data and workflows for product release.

Product / Sample Assessment and Verification

  • Evaluate vendor product offerings and identify suitable candidates for development.
  • Conduct testing and verification for new products or product changes.
  • Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve product issues and prepare verification reports.
  • Vendor Communication

  • Maintain daily communication with vendors, primarily through emails and conference calls.
  • Facilitate the progress of products through various development stages.
  • Product Information and Visuals Contribution and Review

  • Provide technical input to the Product Information and Visuals Teams.
  • Review manuals, website content, technical specifications and images for accuracy.
  • Product Roadmap Contribution and Industrial Design

  • Contribute to new product ideas, provide input on roadmaps, and ensure adherence to industrial design standards for new product introductions.
  • Essential Qualifications :

  • Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma or Electrical Engineering Degree.
  • Minimum of 3-5 Years progressive technical experience in a product development or product verification environment.
  • Previous hardware development experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering principles (electrical and mechanical) and design processes is a must.
  • Strong organizational / multitasking skills
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with consumer electronics and / or computer accessory product validation / verification practices and test instrumentation
  • Previous experience with high-speed electronic signal debugging using oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, and protocol analysis is desirable.
  • Previous experience in complex mechanical design and analysis is highly desirable. Ideal candidate possesses a keen understanding of mechanical principles and their application in development of innovative and reliable products.
