We are seeking adetail-oriented and reliable Accountantwith strongfull-cycle accountingandproperty management experienceto join our client’s Nisku office. This is a temporary position with the potential to transition into a permanent role. The ideal candidate brings accuracy, independence, and consistency to their work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has demonstrated loyalty and stability throughout their career.
Responsibilities:
- Managefull-cycle accountingacross multiple entities and GLs
- Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and oversee AP/AR
- Conductoccupancy cost calculationsand perform semi-annual reconciliations/true-ups
- Manageasset accounting, amortization schedules, and loan tracking
- Overseeproperty tax reportingand ensure compliance requirements are met
- Act as liaison forinsurance administration(building purchases/sales, tenant coverage, auto policies)
- Prepare and fileWCB and GSTreturns across multiple companies
- Supportyear-end processes, including preparation for review engagements and auditor inquiries
- Utilizeage 50, Excel, and online banking platformsfor accounting operations
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reports (monthly financials by ~20th of following month)
- Perform additional accounting duties as required
Qualifications:
- Accounting diploma or degree; CPA designation (in progress or completed) is a strong asset
- Minimum3–5 years of full-cycle accountingexperience with exposure toproperty management and/or real estate development
- Proven record ofstability and loyaltyin previous roles
- Strong proficiency inSage 50 and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with BMO online banking is an asset
- Solid understanding ofintercompany transactionsand multi-entity reporting
- Exceptional accuracy in data entry and financial statement preparation
- Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and prioritize effectively
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
