Procurement Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will play a key part in managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with public sector guidelines, and optimizing vendor relationships. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the healthcare industry while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee procurement activities, including purchase orders and non-purchase order items, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Act as the primary point of contact for procurement-related requests and inquiries across the organization.
• Review and manage contracts, including auto-renewal agreements, to ensure compliance and alignment with organizational goals.
• Implement updates to procurement processes and guidelines to streamline operations.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing and secure favourable terms.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage materials handling to meet operational demands.
• Utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel and ERP systems to track procurement activities and generate reports.
• Ensure adherence to public sector procurement standards and regulations.
• Support ad-hoc procurement needs and provide timely solutions to organizational challenges.
• Work closely with internal teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the public sector.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software such as Coupa and iProcurement.
• Strong understanding of vendor and supplier management processes.
• Knowledge of public sector procurement guidelines and standards.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
