Our client, a well-established and reputable organization in the
retail industry, is seeking a
Corporate Accountant to join their growing finance team! This is an exciting, newly created role that will report directly to the Director of Finance and play a key part in supporting the company’s continued growth and operational success.
The Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of financial activities, including month-end and year-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and financial analysis. This is a hands-on position ideal for a proactive accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes.
This position is fully in-office, offering an excellent opportunity to work closely with leadership and gain exposure to the broader business operations.

Key Responsibilities: -
Manage and execute the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

Assist in the preparation and analysis of the monthly financial reporting package for management and stakeholders

Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering financial data, analyzing trends, and preparing variance reports

Participate in the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies

Oversee full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of transactions

Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business decision-making

Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by the Director of Finance

Handle other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications & Experience: -
3+ years of progressive accounting experience

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

CPA designation (or working toward designation) preferred but not required

Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
