Job description

Drafting Technician

Our client is looking for a Drafting Technician to join their team in Calgary. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating documentation for our installation team. The projects you will be working on are a variety of audio-visual and control systems, including video walls, large sound systems, performance lighting, and control systems.

Your success will be defined by your ability to :

Complete a wide variety of drawing types :

AV schematics, Locations, Elevations, Rack Layout, Conduit Risers, Input Plate Diagrams, Custom Mounting Solutions

Communicate with key stakeholders regarding requirements, concerns, and status

Adapt to changing project requirements

Maintain an organized file system for storing relevant documents

Complete as-builts from received drawings

Participate in weekly meetings

Keep up to date with industry developments and emerging technologies.

Pass a security clearance as needed

Your strengths include :

5 years of general AV experience in a paid or volunteer role

Experience using Microsoft Visio

Experience using DTools - System Integrator

Experience using AutoCAD LT will be considered an asset

Experience reading architectural and structural drawing sets
