As we expand our capabilities, we are seeking an experienced Machinist / Mold Maker with strong manual machining and hands‑on bench fitting skills to lead mold maintenance and build activities.

Role Summary

The Machinist / Mold Maker will be responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing injection / blow molds using manual machining, EDM, hand‑fitting, and precision tooling techniques. The Machinist provides both advanced machining capability and mold‑building expertise, ensuring high‑precision mold construction, maintenance, and repair. This role combines machining, EDM operations, bench fitting, and mold troubleshooting. This is a hands‑on, craftsmanship‑focused position ideal for a toolmaker who takes pride in precision work, problem‑solving, and mentoring junior technicians in a traditional toolroom environment. The successful candidate will work cross‑functionally with Engineering & Production to deliver reliable tooling, optimize cycle time and quality, and support continuous improvement.

Note : This position is ideal for a career toolmaker with deep hands‑on skills in blow mold design elements such as neck finishes, pinch‑off systems, parting lines, slides, cooling channels, and venting . This role is primarily manual machining (mills, lathes, grinders). CNC operation / programming is not required .

Key Responsibilities

• Build & assemble new molds and tooling.
• Perform mold repairs and refurbishments (bench work, fitting, grinding, hand tools).
• Operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, radial arm drill, and standard toolroom equipment.
• Fabricate replacement mold components as needed.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on molds and tooling.
• Diagnose mold performance issues and resolve part defects (flash, short shots, warpage, etc.).
• Support mold setups, mold trials, and adjustments during tool runs.
• Work closely with production technicians and engineering team.
• Maintain accurate tooling documentation and mold maintenance logs.
• Recommend improvements to tooling life, cycle time, and reliability.
• Contribute to 5S / toolroom organization and preventative maintenance programs.
• Mentor apprentices and junior toolroom staff.
• Promote a safe, organized, and quality‑driven work environment.
