Eye of Newt Books publishes a range of strange and unusual illustrated books for all age groups. From nonfiction board books to illustrated, fantasy world-building projects, Eye of Newt is a niche publisher here in Toronto.

As Publishing Administrator at Eye of Newt Books your day-to-day will be dynamic and full. You’ll focus on assisting with the administrative aspects of book projects, Kickstarter campaigns, and event that EON attends.

You will help organize weekly meetings with the publishers and EON team.

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and organized, with an interest in books. If you are interested in publishing, this is an exciting opportunity to join a small, innovative Toronto publishing.

This role is based in Toronto in the Eglinton and Mount Pleasant area and will require the candidate to work in the office.

Responsibilities :

  • Assisting with administrative aspects of projects.
  • Doing Kickstarter campaigns.
  • Assisting and organizing Eye of Newt events.
  • Performing administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements :

Previous administrative experience is an asset

A publishing certificate or a degree (e.g., BA, BS) in English, journalism, communications, or the humanities is an asset.

  • Previous experience in magazine, book, or Web production is an asset.
  • Strong organizational is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with various EON team members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat are essential.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms an asset.
