Role Description

In this pivotal role, the Project Engineer ensures seamless project delivery, fostering collaboration across all organizational tiers and stakeholders.

Handling multiple projects concurrently, this individual thrives in a dynamic environment to meet diverse deliverables. Key responsibilities include crafting preliminary and final designs for an array of projects spanning road reconstruction, infrastructure renewal, stormwater systems, culverts, watermains, and sanitary and storm sewers.

You'll take charge of preparing and coordinating approvals, tender documents, cost estimates, and comprehensive reports, ensuring meticulousness and compliance.

Utilizing expertise in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microstation platforms, you'll manage projects efficiently, overseeing engineering and contract administration for municipal initiatives.

You will be tasked with building positive relationships with both internal teams and clients, contributing to a collaborative work environment while also participating in the training, development, and mentorship of junior staff.

Your responsibilities :

  • Engage with teams across all levels of the company and stakeholders, orchestrating the timely delivery of multiple projects, fostering an environment that thrives on collective success
  • Shape the preliminary and final designs for impactful projects, spanning road reconstruction, infrastructure renewal, stormwater systems, culverts, watermains, and grading, channeling creativity into tangible solutions
  • Prepare and coordinate approvals, tender documents, cost estimates, contract documents, and detailed reports
  • Manage projects adeptly in platforms like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microstation
  • Review intricate construction scenarios, including live utility connections, temporary works, and commissioning, ensuring each step aligns with high standards of safety and excellence
  • Play an active role in the training, development, and mentorship of junior staff, contributing to their growth within a dynamic and supportive environment

Your Qualifications

You bring over 5 years experience as a Municipal / Civil Engineer; consulting experience would be an asset. You hold a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field and are on the trajectory towards Professional Engineer (P.

Eng.) registration or already hold this designation. You excel in team environments and demonstrate superior written and oral communication skills, evidenced through the creation of comprehensive reports, technical documents, and impactful client communications.

You have proven your abilities in project management, blending technical expertise with effective leadership, ensuring the successful execution of diverse projects within specified parameters.

Qualifications :

  • 5+ years’ Municipal / Civil Engineer or equivalent experience
  • On path for registration or currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Proven project management and technical skills
  • Experience with software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D is considered an asset
  • Proven capabilities in writing reports and other technical documents
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • A valid driver's license is required
