As the Buying Manager for Timepieces & Jewelry Brands , you will report directly to the Senior Director, Timepieces & Jewelry Brands and collaborate closely with the Planning and Brand Management teams. Your primary focus will be on maximizing sales, seizing growth opportunities, and minimizing risk while achieving key financial KPIs. By effectively overseeing vendor performance, you will play a crucial role in driving business success. You will excel as a team player, leveraging excellent interpersonal skills and in-depth product knowledge of various brands. Your responsibilities will encompass managing replenishment and reviewing open-to-buy, analyzing inventory opportunities and challenges, building strong relationships with retailers and vendors, and overseeing receipt management for third-party brands.

The Manager Buying, Timepieces & Jewelry Brands will lead purchasing activities for Third Party Brands within the business, overseeing the Senior Buyer and ensuring strong performance aligns with organizational goals. The successful candidate will excel at analyzing complex data to generate strategic decision-making.

In this role, you will simultaneously manage multiple initiatives, including but not limited to :

Store assortment & Allocation

  • Maintain product assortment by store based on performance and allocated space
  • Analyze product mix to provide a consistent and relevant value proposition to the customer, identifying opportunities and gaps within the store assortment
  • Participate in Line reviews and stock balancing exercises
  • Maintain a consistent dialogue with the Retail team to understand the market, identify customer and store needs

Procurement

  • Analyze in stock position and product assortment by store
  • Identify replenishment needs based on sales and inventory levels and place weekly / monthly orders while respecting the OTB
  • Work closely with the Planner to create and update product procurement schedule
  • Responsible for Vendor Relations – compliance, vendor billing reconciliation and return to vendors
  • Responsible of follow up with vendors on late orders and update anticipate dates on orders according to ETAs
  • Customer Service

  • Collaborate with Brand management, Retail, Wholesale and E-Commerce teams to provide insightful analysis driving merchandising strategies
  • EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, fashion or any other relevant Degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years  of experience in a buying leadership role (preferably within a retailer),
  • Exceptional analytical & negotiation skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Luxury brand & market awareness
  • Knowledge of market trends and purchasing best practices
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Results-driven, flexible and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated positive relationships with internal / external customers
  • Demonstrated problem solving and innovative thinking
  • Computer literate – Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Bilingual : French and English (spoken / written). Please note that due to the nature of the responsibilities of the position, a proficient level of English is required, in particular to communicate on a regular basis with employees and managers outside of Quebec.
  • Essbase & Microsoft Dynamics D365 or AX2012 Knowledge are an asset
