Job Description

Location : Oakville or Montreal

Start Date : As soon as possible

Length of term : 12 Months

Work schedule : 40 hours / week

Work mode : Hybrid (onsite 3 days / week is required)

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a 12-month contract engagement as a Data Governance Coordinator – Data Readiness, Migration and Validation. This role can be based in either Oakville or Montreal office.

The Data Governance Coordinator supports the team to ensure the Data Governance Framework is adhered to, providing data integrity and quality through audits and “health checks.” This role acts as a gatekeeper for all new and existing master data, implements and communicates Data Governance guidelines, and supports the team with day-to-day administrative data management.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Collect, manage, and enter data to support the data management and governance strategy.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative management of data.
  • Create and maintain master data attributes across all segments of the buying office.
  • Perform validation and corrections via audit reports to ensure standardization.
  • Manage all existing and to-be sources of product data.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the master data operations.
  • Resolve data deficiencies, discrepancies, and inconsistencies.
  • Act as a gatekeeper for all reference master data in the system of record(s).
  • Ensure timely and compliant data maintenance in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  • Support onboarding and provide recommendations to data owners and stakeholders.
  • Maintain data processing and governance across all segments of the buying office.
  • Identify and recommend changes to improve process efficiencies.
  • Document and communicate data integrity issues and best practices.
  • Apply best business practices for mass data updates.
  • Collaborate to develop and support policies / procedures on data governance.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and requirements.
  • Requirements and qualifications

  • Strong understanding of business processes related to merchandise systems and reporting.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail in data entry and analysis.
  • Proactive and capable of anticipating team needs.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with key business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency to respond to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, IF statements).
  • Production environment experience
  • Strong SAP experience
  • Experience with BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.) is a plus.
  • The successful candidate must be proficient in English, as the role involves working with resources outside of Quebec.
