Phoenix Education Foundation is a non-profit, Alberta-accredited independent K–9 school in Calgary, serving approximately 250 students through a BlendEd learning model that combines onsite and online instruction. We have been operating since 2004 and are recognized pioneers of BlendEd learning in Alberta.
We are seeking a Principal who is energized by personalized education, smaller school communities, and leadership that is relational, responsive, and grounded in real instructional practice.
This role works closely with the Head of School (Founder) and is primarily focused on instructional leadership . The Principal supports teachers, guides program development, and helps steward a learning environment where creativity, adaptability, and strong relationships are central.
- This is an onsite role aligned with the school calendar and is ideal for an experienced educational leader who values autonomy, collaboration, and thoughtful practice over one-size-fits-all systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide instructional leadership aligned with the Alberta Program of StudiesSupport and coach teachers in a BlendEd learning environmentGuide program development and instructional planningFoster a collaborative, relationship-centered school cultureWork closely with the Head of School as part of the leadership teamSupport assessment, reporting, and student progress monitoringContribute to a learning environment that values creativity, adaptability, and meaningful engagementQUALIFICATIONS
Required :
Valid Permanent Alberta Teaching CertificateLeadership Qualification Standard (LQS) or willingness to obtainExperience in instructional leadership or senior teaching rolesPreferred :
Comfort with technology-supported learning environments (training provided as needed)Experience in independent, alternative, or blended learning settingsStrong relational leadership and communication skillsSCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
