What you will do

• Respond to emergency incidents and attend training sessions.
• Safely report immediately to their assigned Fire Station when pagers are activated for an emergency incident, following instructions / directives from officers.
• Respond to emergency incidents and carry out fire station duties as assigned.
• Controls fire nozzles or appliances and performs fire hose work (e.g., connecting, loading and moving).
• Work in self‑contained breathing apparatus in hazardous areas.
• Work from a height.
• Operate various Fire department vehicles with required training.
• Move, set up and operate various pieces of emergency equipment such as generators, portable pumps, and ladders.
• Provide scene safety such as public or traffic control.
• Adhere to guidelines, rules, regulations, policies and procedures as outlined in Leduc County Fire Services Standard Operating Guidelines Manual.
• Adhere to guidelines as set out in Leduc County’s policies and administrative directives.
• Be accountable for working in compliance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code and participation in the Health, Safety and Wellness Program.
• Perform related duties as required.
