The Summer Students Accounting Clerk works as a team member within Houselink & Mainstay’s Head Office. They provide in person support to ensure that the essential service departments operate efficiently and effectively, by supporting those staff who directly operate housing and provide stability for tenants.
Education and Experience Requirements :
- Enrolled in Third or Fourth year or recently completed accounting-related studies
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Software
As a condition of employment, a successful police record check is required.
Receipt and confirmation of rent payments; and enter data into the property / finance YARDI Voyager Information System;
Ensure incoming communications such as generally addressed department mail, and incoming cheque requests are completed in full for correct forwarding.Filing of confidential payment records in appropriate folders and drawers.Preparation of statistics and reports related to rent, housing and support costs, using Excel and Word. Understanding of pivot tables and mail merge are assets.Assist Financial Analysts to meet regular deadlines for monthly reports, processing payment requests, and auditor requirements for annual review.Participation in supervisory sessions with the designated Finance staff member.Any special projects as assigned, such as reviewing ledgers for discrepancies.Other General Office / Organization Duties as required, with demonstration of understanding of Human Resources policies provided at orientation.Pay : $21 per hour.
