The Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff Systems Technician for Digital Media and Connected Systems team.

Digital Services and Real Property operate in a product-centric environment. The Systems Technician works as part of a collaborative team dedicated to maintaining, enhancing and or installing multimedia systems and technologies, including video, audio, security, controls, and other systems. In addition, this position provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 client support for the installation, maintenance and urgent problem-solving of systems.

In order to ensure seamless delivery of services and operations, Digital Services and Real Property operates under a 24 7 support model. Depending on the support required, some work activities related to this role may require working irregular hours, overtime or providing on-call support to meet operational requirements.

Qualifications

Education :

  • A post secondary degree or diploma in Engineering Technician or related field or an acceptable combination of education and or relevant experience and training.
  • Experience :

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in technical support and problem solving for a wide range of EISS (Enterprise Integrated Security Systems) equipment and systems, including finding solutions to technical problems;
  • Experience in the design, testing and implementation of systems and equipment to respond to unique client requirements and event support parameters;
  • Experience assisting with the management of small- to medium-sized projects; helping to define requirements; designing, documenting, testing, creating and implementing technical solutions and systems;
  • Experience with high level client relations and effective handling of service requests and technical issues.
  • Assets :

  • Knowledge of various technical equipment (Intrusion, Access Control, Video Surveillance, Physical Barriers, Intercoms & Communication devices, Cabling);
  • Knowledge of the principles of electronics;
  • Knowledge of how to assemble equipment racks : reading plans and technical diagrams, and thermal, cable and electrical systems management;
  • Experience and / or training in programming systems; Lenel, Genetec, Milestone, TRAKA, Bosch, Jupiter, Raritan;
  • Knowledge of the principles of network computing (types of routers and switches, basic IP, MAC).
