Position Overview Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the Food Services Worker will undertake duties in the residence kitchen(s) that support its functioning and maintenance. The Food Services Worker will also be responsible for following food preparation, handling and storage protocols to ensure residents receive high-quality meals. Key Tasks and Responsibilities : Maintain overall operation of dishwashing and equipment cleaning as per sanitation / safety policies. Will be responsible for some food preparation, and distribution of meals to residents in the dining rooms, following all residents’ diets and food textures safely. Provide a safe and pleasurable dining experience for all residents. Document food temperatures to ensure they meet and exceed legislative standards Track fridge, freezer and dishwasher temperatures. Report any and all deficiencies to the Support Services Manager. Distribute meals in the dining room under the direction of the cook. Set tables, serve food, clean tables and chairs after use. Perform cleaning duties as scheduled. Sweep, mop and maintain floors daily in both kitchens. Remove garbage when full from kitchen and clean containers as required. Prepare and distribute nourishments 3x day and document residents snack on POC program Skills and Knowledge : Completion of grade 12 and the Food Handler’s Course. Food Service Worker Certificate Course (as per Ministry of Health standard P1.39) is required. Registration and acceptance to Food Service Worker program before hire. A minimum of 1 year experience in the food service industry within the last two years. Ability to take direction, learn procedures, perform routine tasks and have the ability to multitask. Assets : Includes nice to haves such as language ability, proximity to work, experience working in a unionized environment etc. Background in a specific area or exposure to a certain piece of software / client group etc. Working conditions : Ability to stand and walk for long periods Work in a busy environment with interruptions and multiple ongoing priorities.
