Overview
Dillon’s Electrical Discipline seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. You will work on innovative projects, providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience. Flexible work hours are offered. The role can be based at any of our offices in Kingston, Ottawa, or Toronto.
Responsibilities
Project Management & Design
- Manage multidisciplinary projects for public and private sector clients with emphasis on electrical components.
- Prepare electrical design drawings : single line diagrams, site plans, power and distribution floor plans, lighting layouts, fire alarm layouts, motor controls, panel board schedules, and equipment schedules.
- Prepare wiring diagrams and electrical details.
- Perform photometric analysis of lighting systems.
- Conduct voltage drop calculations.
- Prepare contract documents and specifications.
- Conduct site visits and contract administration.
- Provide on‑site services for inspections, equipment start‑up, and commissioning.
Business Development
Manage margins and optimize sales strategies to drive revenue and ensure profitability.Develop and execute strategies to generate and manage a robust sales pipeline.Identify and qualify potential customers.Assess marketing initiatives and measure impact on sales, ensuring a positive return on investment.Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.Travel to Dillon offices on business as requested.Learning & Development
Commit to ongoing self‑development and professional growth.Support the career development of junior staff through technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring.Represent Dillon through active participation in professional associations and committees.Qualifications
A degree in electrical engineering.Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in Manitoba, or eligible to be licensed within six months.A minimum of 10–15 years of related professional experience.Experience
Demonstrated success and expertise in project management and business development.Leadership experience managing teams of technical professionals on multidisciplinary projects.Deep understanding of the electrical component of renewable‑energy related projects.Extensive experience in medium / low voltage distribution, motor protection and control, emergency power generation, load calculations, lighting design, fire alarm systems, security systems, video surveillance, lightning protection, grounding and bonding, hazardous area classification, and short‑circuit / arc‑flash studies.Experience performing on‑site services : condition assessments, construction observation, equipment acceptance testing, start‑up and commissioning, and training.Proficiency in providing technical leadership to a team of professionals.Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.Compensation
$120,000 – $160,000
