  • ABOUT THE ROLE

    The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a member of, and trusted advisor and coach to, the client group’s leadership team. Collaborating closely with Human Resources and other functional groups, the HRBP identifies stated and underlying needs, and develops and implements talent solutions, including talent sourcing, employee relations, culture and engagement, talent management, training and development, and employee communications support. The HRBP also advocates for the needs of the client group in enterprise-wide HR program development and implementation and is responsible for applying HR policies, procedures, and programs in their region.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively builds strong relationships, connections, and understanding with client group leaders and employees, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Partners with client group leaders to assess organizational structure, job design and talent needs.
  • Provides advice, and assistance to managers and employees on HR matters, escalates as required to mitigate risk, and assists with action planning.
  • Creates reports and leverages HR metrics and market data to initiate meaningful discussions and provide data-driven recommendations to leaders.
  • Builds a strategic talent plan aligned to the client group and organization’s strategy.
  • Facilitates annual performance cycle, talent review, and succession and development planning, ensuring follow-up programs are delivered.
  • Represents and advocates for client group needs in enterprise-wide HR change management, program development and implementation (e.g., performance management, compensation analysis, succession planning, employee engagement, diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism), and special projects.
  • Develops, implements, supports, reinforces, and modifies and provides guidance on HR policies, programs, and procedures against relevant local legislation and recommends improvements.
  • Assists in the preparation of employee communications, training, and development.
  • Manages and participates in full cycle recruitment activities.
  • Facilitates onboarding and offboarding, leaves and returns to work including coordinating logistics with appropriate teams (e.g., IT, HR shared services) and assisting with exit interviews.
  • Ensures proper employee documentation and records in HR systems, compiling documentation as needed.
  • Participates and manages ad hoc HR and business unit projects as assigned.
  • WHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in HR with minimum 3 years’ experience in a generalist / business partner role supporting management.
  • Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • HR certification (e.g., CHRP, CHRL, SHRP, PHR, SPHR), preferred.
  • Training design and facilitation experience an asset.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Note : The knowledge of English is required as the position interacts on a consistent and regular basis with English-speaking stakeholders located outside of Quebec.
