Purpose of the Job
The Technical Delivery Lead (TDL) is a key role reporting directly to the Director, Technology Portfolio. The TDL is responsible for managing and delivering technology initiatives in alignment with Enterprise Change Management policies and procedures. This hybrid role requires a strong combination of hands-on technical expertise and project management capabilities. The successful candidate will leverage their in-depth knowledge in areas such as networking, core infrastructure, Azure cloud, and information security (InfoSec) to guide and execute change initiatives through the entire project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
Main Activities :
- Provide significant technical leadership to plan and lead end to end technology execution of initiatives within the Technology Portfolio that may not require a Project Management professional
- Act as a Trusted Technical Advisor when working with a PM to ensure the right technology partners are engaged to execute project deliverables and support keeping projects / programs on track
- Escalate any gaps to the PM and Tech App Owner / Manager as needed to eliminate technical barriers
- Support planning at all levels to understand the work, responsibilities and dependencies to set the right expectations, ultimately enabling on-time delivery of the right technical solution while removing ambiguity
- Collaborate with Technology Directors to establish the high-level architecture and components of the solution
- Effectively manage financials / budget ensure approval of funding and be disciplined in cost management
- Engage proper Business and Technology stakeholders, vendors and manage governance forums to ensure timely, transparent and effective decision making
- Facilitate meetings, document and follow up on risks, action items, issues and decisions
- Complete project evaluations, velocity metrics and assessment of results to the key benefits and performance indicators
Knowledge / Skill Requirements :
Six+ years’ experience leading technology initiatives throughout the full life cyclePost-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related technical degree or equivalent experience in highly desiredPMP, Agile, Scrum Master, Business Process Improvement or Change Management Certification is a major assetExtensive knowledge with hands-on experience in all areas of Infrastructure and Information Security, including key concepts, principles, and terminology is requiredExposure to both a large and small corporate cultures is preferredDemonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently, effectively organizing and coordinating senior cross-functional teams, fostering close collaboration and cooperationStrong time management, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with hands-on experience in resolving technical impediments and managing the closure of RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and DependenciesExceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the confidence to effectively engage senior technical audiencesExperience in vendor management, including facilitating and maintaining relationships, negotiating contracts, establishing vendor standards, and leading vendor selection processesProven delivery track record in both business and Technology projects, especially in digital given our challenger bank orientationStrong proficiency in developing testing strategies, planning, designing test cases, and reporting defectsProven ability in Risk Management and Issue Resolution leveraging the Bank's policies and proceduresProven experience in a highly collaborative, customer-focused environment with the ability to adapt and pivot quickly when needed
