Reporting to the President of Global Markets, and collaborating with a results-oriented, high-performing team, the Senior Analyst (Associate) is a unique combination of strategy, M & A, financial analysis and building investor relations.

This dynamic position combines investment banking acumen with management consulting expertise to provide strategic insights, facilitate high-stakes transactions, and drive business growth.

As a pivotal member of our team, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping strategic initiatives, exploring new market opportunities, and leading capital raising and private partnership efforts.

Utilizing your investment banking and management consulting skills to drive innovation in global markets, this position is designed for a professional who excels in navigating complex financial transactions, delivering strategic insights, and fostering client relationships.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Canada’s most dynamic real estate capital raising and business development teams.

Over the past five years, the Global Markets team has raised over $5B in equity and spearheaded numerous institutional joint ventures, co-mingled funds and large M & A transactions, including expanding into the UK residential market.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Starlight’s executive team to synthesize market intelligence, delivering actionable insights on investment strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of global markets, focusing on trends, capital flows, and market conditions.
  • Produce comprehensive reports and presentations that highlight key market developments and their implications for clients.
  • Identify and evaluate potential M & A opportunities, market expansions, and emerging sectors.
  • Spearhead capital raising efforts by leading deal structuring, crafting compelling marketing materials, and developing insightful industry reports.
  • Engage with investors to address their needs and enhance their experience.

Investor Relations

  • Cultivate and deepen relationships with current investors by articulating the firm’s value proposition and showcasing exciting investment opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and industry experts to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of industry professionals, leveraging connections both within the firm and in the broader industry to drive business growth and opportunities.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Develop sophisticated financial models and perform in-depth analyses to support new and existing investment vehicles, ensuring sound investment decisions.
  • Support the execution of complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory services.
  • Produce detailed quarterly reports on Starlight’s investment performance, including thorough performance analysis and updates on operational and managerial developments.

Team and Strategic Development

  • Contribute to the development of best practices and operational efficiencies within the team and the broader organization.
  • Leverage your strategic expertise to shape and implement growth initiatives, positioning Starlight as a global leader in residential commercial real estate.
  • Craft innovative strategies and identify new market opportunities.

Requirements

  • Educational Background : Undergraduate degree with high academic standing in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • Professional Experience : Minimum of 3 5 years of experience in investment banking, equity research, management consulting, private equity, or real estate.
  • Investment Knowledge : Proficient understanding of private equity, M & A and real estate investments is preferred.
  • Analytical Skills : Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytic skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data and effectively communicate key findings.
  • Independence and Collaboration : Ability to work independently and also with a wide variety of people, including internal and external parties, and meet deadlines while managing several assignments.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset : Eagerness to learn, be inquisitive and strategic problem solver.
  • Communication Skills & Relationship Management : Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships externally and at all levels of organization.
