Position Details

The University of Lethbridge Information Technology Services department is seeking applications for the position of Infrastructure Architect with the Network and Telecom team.

Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the incumbent will be responsible for implementing special network, telecom and infrastructure projects.

This is a casual position located at our Lethbridge campus. (Casual hours up to just less than half time). While flexible or hybrid work options may be possible, this position will typically require certain work on the Lethbridge campus.

This casual position will be a key member of the network team responsible for implementing Cisco SDA and related technologies in the data centre design and network. The Infrastructure Architect provides high-level leadership and planning in implementing Cisco SDA, ACI and related technologies. This position is the senior technical resource and as such provides advanced network analysis in situations involving complex technologies where greater skills and experience are needed. The position requires teamwork, quick thinking under stress and an eye towards innovative solutions.

Starting Salary Range :

40.02 – $50.34 per hour Position Qualifications Core Responsibilities :

  • Planning and implementing Cisco SDA and ACI technologies.
  • Planning and Implementing other infrastructure projects as needed such as Teams telephony, Dot1X and intent based networking, Cisco Secure Network Analytics (Stealthwatch), fiber or data centre upgrade.
  • Knowledge transfer, guidance, training, and mentoring for other staff in the Network Telecom team.

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Computing Science or a related discipline and several years of experience in network, telephony, system administration or related fields.

The University of Lethbridge primarily uses Cisco products across the campus. The candidate must be knowledgeable in Cisco products including SDA and ACI. A suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.

The incumbent must be highly organized, have excellent attention to detail, effective communication skills, and have experience managing a high volume of diverse activities under tight deadlines. Additionally, the incumbent must be an innovative self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision and possess the ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and logically.
