Wage Rate : $30.30 – 31.29 per hour (note : the above hourly rate includes negotiated rate and permanent compensation enhancement).

Schedule : Variable schedule , guaranteed between forty-eight (48) and seventy (70) hours each pay period. Schedules may vary each pay period and employees will be provided with their schedule at least six (6) weeks in advance.

Pathways to Independence requires three (3) Regular Part Time Counsellors to provide assisted living support for adults with an Acquired Brain Injury.

Under the direction of the Client Services Manager, the Counsellor plans and facilitates the implementation of flexible and responsive supports to adults living with a brain injury in accordance with their Quality-of-Life plan (QLP). Working in collaboration with the person’s support team, the Counsellor guides and coaches the supported person to build personal and community living skills based on their unique interests, plans, abilities, rights and goals. The Counsellor ensures that established strategies and behaviour management programs are implemented and that the supported person’s services promote their rights, choice, self-determination and independence.

The successful candidate must have the following skills / qualifications :

• A post-secondary diploma or degree from a human services field and specialized education in brain injury, disability studies, cognitive rehabilitation, behaviour management, social work, or psychology.
• Proof of completion of an approved Pharmacology Course
• Current First Aid and CPR.
• Valid G class driver’s license.

The successful candidate must be able to perform the job duties as outlined in the job description. All employees at Pathways will be responsible for a commitment to safety. Shifts are typically 12 hours long and include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. May work with clients who have aggressive behavior.
