Location : Markham
The System Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of the organization’s computer systems and servers. You will install hardware and software and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of the organization.
Responsibilities :
- Manage daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly administration tasks
- Active directory management & optimization
- Group policy configuration & deployment
- Server build & configuration; Advanced server admin knowledge
- Patch management – endpoint patching / critical updates
- Office – advanced knowledge of O Administration
- Formulate policy & process re technical administration
- Application support
- Project execution
- Implementation – upgrades, migrations etc.
- Manage back-ups – daily back-up logging, monthly data restore testing
- Documentation – build & maintain internal technical documentation, manuals, IT policies / procedures
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
- Inventory – maintain hardware & software inventory
- Prepare User Access Review (UAR) lists of key applications (Office users, VPN Users, Zoom users, Data Pine users, Server Room access, Adobe software users, Dropbox Users, etc.)
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experienceWorking knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalentStrong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocolsExperience with scripting and automation toolsStrong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocolsCertifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields
