What will your typical day look like?

The successful candidates will provide research, analytical, writing and project management support to the Deloitte Economics team for client reports, proposals and various other Deloitte Economics projects and initiatives.

More specifically, this position will support projects with economic development, tourism, workforce development, global trade and investment, and corporate strategy focuses.

Main responsibilities include the following :

  • Conduct and direct primary and secondary research in a wide range of fields and synthesize findings that add value for other team members and the client
  • Demonstrate a high aptitude in written communication, including the ability to adopt different formats and styles as required by the project and a high level of grammatical proficiency
  • Edit and merge work from multiple sources (sub-consultants, team members) into a harmonized written 'voice'
  • Collect, manipulate and analyze data relating to employment, industries, trade, population demographics, housing, and real estate
  • Find, process and analyze trends in knowledge-based industry sectors and their supply chains and report to on the impacts on local, regional and national economic development
  • Present statistical results graphically and explain analysis and trends clearly for a non-technical audience.
  • Be the face of our projects through qualitative research activities such as focus groups, interviews with community and business leaders, and presentations
  • Interact with project rightsholders at all levels, including through interviews, presentations, workshops and surveys
  • Summarize and synthesize findings into "so what" discoveries that create clear and deliberate insights to clients that go beyond the obvious
  • Communicating comfortably with clients and sub-consultants
  • Project management including anticipating client expectations and organizing team members to be working ahead of delivery timelines

About the team

Our Economics team provides a range of economic advisory services to our clients. In an uncertain world, Economic Analysis can help companies and local, regional, provincial and federal governments make better choices.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You are someone with :

  • Self-identifies as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuk, Métis)
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities in Canada and understanding specialty data sets that apply to Nations will be considered a significant asset
  • 3+ years of relevant research, analytical, strategy and advisory expertise
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in an area that is related to one or more of our core areas of service delivery as described above.
  • Excellent understanding of local, regional and other levels of government related to our business lines : economic development and tourism, workforce development, investment and trade, strategic planning, land economics, etc.
  • Outstanding analytical, writing and communication capabilities and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment under tight timelines
  • Effective time management premised on a personal understanding of project commitments, efficiency and work style
  • Familiarity with accessing and analyzing labour market, demographic, housing and industry-related data
  • Curiosity, passion and tenacity with the goal of making the world a better place, one community and client at a time
  • Experience with economic modeling or data visualization
  • French or an Indigenous language fluency are assets

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $106,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
