Your work environment at EXP

EXP is currently looking for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Central Canada Buildings Group in Markham, Ontario . There will be an opportunity for Hybrid working arrangements with time split between home and office. While there is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects the primary focus of this position is to assist our design team with structural design for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Primarily assist with the design of steel structures, but be familiar with concrete, masonry and timber construction.
• Assist with analysis of existing structures for changes in loading or proposed alterations, and design reinforcing when required.
• Prepare design sketches for drafting by others and assist with development and coordination of structural drawings and specifications.
• Work with other senior and / or junior engineers collaboratively.
• Participate in design meetings with owner, architect and other consultants.
• Participate in construction site meetings.
• Conduct site visits during construction to review work for general compliance to structural drawings and contract documents.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and bids for new projects.
