Their Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network is revolutionizing global broadband connectivity.
As a Operations Research Specialist, you play a pivotal role in ensuring that the constellation operations are achieving a high level of efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
- Formulate optimization problems and deploy them in the constellation System Model, using proper solver parameters in order to achieve improvements in performance and run time.
- Drive optimization methodologies used in analysis and system operations.
- Devise new formulations in support of new features, constraints and objectives introduced to the System Model.
- Apply mathematical optimization techniques such as Linear Programming and Mixed Integer Programming to design near-optimal solvers to be used in system engineering and operations software.
- Perform objective trade-offs of algorithms and formulations.
- Work collaboratively with wider engineering teams to support the development and integration of the System Model.
- Support systems engineering with technical leadership and guidance in regard to operations research best practices.
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation.
- Work with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders as required.
Key Skills & Experience :
- A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Operations Research.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience for this role.
- Experience working on large problems, with large constraints (millions of rows / columns).
- Proficiency in using commercial solvers like Gurobi and Cplex (Gurobi preferred).
- A strong background in optimization techniques to solve Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) problems.
- Experience with programming in languages such as MATLAB, Python, Java, C or C++ (MATLAB preferred).
- Experience in applying Operations Research toward solving business problems.
- Experience with space systems is a plus
This position offers hybrid working, with a requirement for 3 days onsite per week.
Must be a permanent resident, or Canadian citizen.
