A career that gives you purpose. A company that stands up for you. A team where you can be yourself. Sound too good to be true? This is life at Houle. We believe in empowering communities through local projects that positively impact people's lives. We're a passionate group of people who love collaborating on innovative and challenging projects.

About this role

Are you a strong design manager looking for the next big challenge? Imagine being part of a team that designs and builds critical healthcare facilities-places where families come when they are most vulnerable, where children are born, and where loved ones receive essential care.

Join our Major Projects team and contribute to creating hospitals that serve our communities in their times of need. Grow your career with us, engage in continuous personal development, and be part of a high-performing team that supports and inspires each other. Apply now to work on one of the next major hospital projects in Western Canada and make a meaningful impact.

You will build some of the most meaningful and needed multi-year Hospital projects in British Columbia. These projects range from $30 - $400 million with a typical duration of 3 to 7 years. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong electrical and or technology technical background, exceptional communication & leadership skills, and a passion for delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.

You'll be part of a progressive and supportive environment that fosters high performance and continuous development, enabling individuals and teams to grow meaningfully while meeting or exceeding project deliverables.

Location

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members
  • Act as the technical liaison with the design team, ensuring alignment on design intent and project goals
  • Develop and manage the electrical/technology design process ensuring alignment with project requirements, timelines, and budgets
  • Participate in the design and/or construction meetings with the owner, general contractor, sub trades, and vendors
  • Collaborate with internal SMEs - engineering teams, consultants, and subcontractors to develop detailed electrical/technology drawings and specifications
  • Understand and communicate the electrical/technology design requirements to relevant design and construction teams

Your experience and skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • 5 years of experience in a design leadership role, for multi-million-dollar, multi-year design build construction projects
  • Demonstrated experience in design management, including leading cross-functional teams through the design development process involving internal subject matter experts (SMEs), external consultants, suppliers, estimators, and the broader project design team
  • Strong knowledge in electrical/ technology systems design and construction for buildings
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of codes, standards, and construction practices
