Responsibilities

What your day will look like

Business Development

  • Manage margins and optimize sales strategies to drive sales revenue, contribute to the company's overall growth, and ensure profitability.
  • Develop and execute effective strategies to generate and manage a robust sales pipeline.
  • Identify and qualify potential customers to build a strong pipeline.
  • Assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and measure their impact on sales while ensuring a positive return on marketing investments by allocating resources efficiently.
  • Conduct market research to gain insights into industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes. Monitor the competitive landscape and identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Business travel to other Dillon offices upon request

Design and Project management

  • Provide full spectrum of project delivery, from requirement gathering, preliminary design, detailed design, construction support, site reviews, commissioning, and troubleshooting for industrial, manufacturing, commercial, municipal, institutional and infrastructure projects.
  • Involved in the design for power and electrical systems including but not limited to power distribution Low and Medium Voltage, Motor Control, lighting systems, Instrumentation and Control, Emergency Power generation, Fire alarm, Security and communication systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, scientists, and technical and administrative support staff
  • Coordinate with Utilities, equipment suppliers, contractors, and clients on regular basis
  • Peer review to ensure all design meets quality and applicable standards including Canadian Electrical Code, applicable CSA codes and standards, National Building Code of Canada, NFPA, and others.

Learning and Development

  • Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
  • Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring
  • Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

  • A degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
  • Licensed to practice as a professional engineer or eligible to be licensed within six months
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of related professional experience

Experience

Demonstrated success and expertise in both project management and business development

  • Demonstrated success leading teams of technical professionals on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Comprehensive understanding of the electrical component of renewable energy-related projects
  • Extensive experience in :
  • Medium and low voltage distribution
  • Motor protection and control
  • Emergency power generation
  • Load calculations
  • Lighting design
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Security systems
  • Video surveillance systems
  • Lightning protection
  • Grounding and bonding
  • Hazardous area classification
  • Short circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies
  • Experience in performing on site services for :
  • Condition assessments
  • Construction observation and inspection
  • Equipment site acceptance testing
  • Start-up and commissioning
  • Training
  • Proficiency in providing technical leadership to a team of professionals
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
