Certified E.E.G. Technician

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

The EEG Technologist plays an essential role in the diagnosis of brain diseases, injury and tumours and is responsible for : performing EEGs and other electrocardiography testing, documenting, equipment monitoring, cleaning and maintenance; and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Registered EEG Technologist with current registration with the Canadian Association of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (C.A.E.T.);
• Previous EEG testing experience;
• Current BCLS;
• Ability to interpret and evaluate clinical data and information;
• Proven basic knowledge about the nervous system, the human anatomy and physiology;
• Proven ability must be able to work accurately and productively under stress;
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills;
• Effective keyboarding skills;
• Demonstrated computer knowledge of Meditech system;
• Proven good organizational, prioritization and time-management skills;
• Knowledge of infection control principles and practices;
• Must be physically able to perform duties of lifting, bending, sitting walking and prolonged standing;
• Must have a satisfactory performance record;
