We are looking for a seasoned data scientist to join our team at Afresh to work on some of our most important revenue-growing projects.

Working from our Data Science and Analytics team, you’ll partner with stakeholders on our Customer teams to measure and demonstrate our product’s impact and help drive improvements.

As one of the first members of the team, you will be a key player in setting the direction of the team and creating a self-serve analytics culture across the company.

Your responsibilities will also include :

  • Partnering with product and business teams to develop effective success metrics (OKRs from product level to company level);
  • Designing experiments to measure the impact of new features on those metrics;
  • Partnering with engineering teams to develop product analytics and data monitoring / alerting systems;
  • Partnering with our machine learning teams for investigations and feature engineering; and
  • Becoming an expert in our data analytics pipelines and core metrics

Qualifications

We are looking for a Data Scientist with relevant and demonstrated industry experience working with cross-functional partners and driving work from idea to completion.

Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with business and external stakeholders is a must.

You would also ideally have education and work experience similar to the following :

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience (or Masters degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience or PhD with 1+ years of relevant work experience)
  • Experience with experimental design, econometrics, and / or causal inference is a plus but not required

And these technical / software skills :

  • Expert level skills at SQL (experience with dbt is a plus but not required)
  • Expertise with Python, R, or a similar data science scripting language
  • Experience with a standard data science software ecosystem : Jupyter Notebooks, pandas, scikit-learn; or RStudio, tidyverse, etc.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar
