Are you a detail-oriented Hardware Designer with a passion for electrical design and development? Join our dynamic team in Ottawa, ON , where you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to innovate and refine product designs. Your expertise in circuit design, prototyping, and troubleshooting will be instrumental in delivering high-quality solutions.

What You'll Do

As a Hardware Designer , you’ll play a crucial role in the design, development, prototyping, testing, and integration of both legacy and new products. Your responsibilities will include :

  • Designing and developing hardware electrical systems while considering cost, production, and service constraints.
  • Creating prototypes and debugging hardware solutions.
  • Maintaining technical documentation for existing and new products.
  • Conducting design reviews and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Supporting service, sales, and system integration efforts as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards and development processes .

What You Bring

We’re looking for a highly skilled professional with :

Education & Experience :

  • Diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • 8+ years of experience in hardware electrical design & development .
  • Technical Skills :

  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, DxDesigner, OrCAD).
  • Hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, etc.).
  • Strong PCB assembly and soldering skills.
  • Expertise in circuit simulation and prototyping .
  • Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-7711 / 7721).
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and the ability to write clear engineering reports .
  • Bonus Skills (Nice to Have) :

  • Programming and scripting skills ( C, Java, Python, etc. ).
  • Experience or familiarity with electronics manufacturing .
