Accounts Payable Specialist - 3 Month Contract

About the Opportunity

• Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures

Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data

Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted

Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements

Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients

Generate reports detailing accounts payables status

Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processes

Monitoring monthly Aging and reconcile subledger general balances

Prepare month end accruals and process and reconcile prepayments accounts

Adhere specific controls in vendor creations and payments

Support General Accounting on ad hoc basis About You

5+ years’ proven working experience as Accounts Payable

Understands basic bookkeeping and accounting principles

Experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset

Proficiency in MS Suite

Ability to work in fast-paced environment

Dependable and accountable, works closely with peers on solving discrepancies

Strong communication skills : ability to communicate information clearly

Ability to work collaboratively as a team

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Attention to detail, fast learner, and quick thinker

Strong Data Entry skills and attention to detail

Relevant Diploma in Accounting

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration

Hourly Rate

24 - $25 / hour
