Position Overview :

  • Our client is seeking a highly skilled BI Data Developer to join our dynamic team.
  • The Data Developer will have expertise in working with big data pipelines and Microsoft BI technologies while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver key product features.
  • This role requires proficiency in AWS infrastructure and tools, data modeling, and BI technologies such as Microsoft Power BI.
  • The Data Developer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing data workflows, contributing to the development of reporting environments, and supporting data-driven decision-making processes.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with Scrum teams to deliver product stories in line with priorities set by the client and Product Owners.
  • Interact with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment between technical solutions and business needs.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to other team members, ensuring shared understanding and upskilling within the team.
  • Develop and maintain big data pipelines, ensuring seamless integration with Microsoft BI technologies.
  • Build and optimize data environments for reporting and analytics, enabling high-quality insights.
  • Work with cloud-based technologies (AWS), including data pipeline design, orchestration, and batch automation processes.

    • Required Skills and Experience :

  • Proven experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure and tools, including DMS, Glue, and Step Functions.
  • Solid knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).
  • Strong programming skills with Python and Typescript.
  • Expertise in data workload / job orchestration and batch automation, including Linux shell scripting and process orchestration tools.
  • Experience in designing and building data environments that support reporting and analytics, including data integrations across disparate systems.
  • Solid experience with data modeling, data engineering, and building data warehouses.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking initiative and driving projects forward.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical abilities, with a natural intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
  • Proficiency in AWS data pipelines, particularly in a financial organization context.
  • Expertise in writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing T-SQL queries.
  • Experience working with Azure SQL.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing Microsoft Power BI datasets.
  • Skilled in designing and implementing Microsoft Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and / or Azure Data Studio.

    • Nice to Have :

  • Familiarity with Informatica and Teradata.
  • Experience with process orchestration tools such as ActiveBatch.
  • Data visualization experience with other BI tools or frameworks.
