YOUR ROLE

As a key member of the leadership team reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will drive excellence in accounting, reporting, tax, and treasury operations, ensuring our rapidly growing organization operates with best-in-class financial practices. Your strategic Finance expertise will advance our technical capabilities while your inspiring leadership will empower a high-performing, mission-critical team to uphold and embody our core values.

YOUR IMPACT

Leadership

  • Inspire and mentor the Finance team, fostering performance improvement, positive change management, professional development, and succession planning.
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Build strong relationships with key corporate leaders while attracting and retaining top talent to maintain a high-performing Finance function.

Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Drive the achievement of Finance strategic goals, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Lead the preparation of financial scorecards and reporting to monitor performance, enhance accountability, and inform decision-making.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including MD&A under IFRS, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage complex accounting issues, regulatory compliance, and external audits to ensure operational excellence.
  • Plan and direct budgets, forecasts, and financial statements to support short- and long-term goals.
  • Cash Management

  • Oversee cash management and capital planning to ensure effective scaling and deployment of resources.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Lead all aspects of near-term and long-range financial planning, analysis, and modeling.
  • Oversee the development of the annual Long-Range Plan (5-year plan), including strategy and financial projections.
  • Analyze margins and develop financial scenarios to drive informed business decisions and support growth initiatives.
  • Additional Responsibilities

  • Lead Finance due diligence and post-merger integration processes for all Mergers and Acquisitions.
  • Manage the organization’s insurance portfolio to ensure appropriate coverage and risk management.
  • Continuously improve Finance processes, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and service delivery.
  • Support the CFO in executing key initiatives, including :
  • System implementations, automations, and modifications.

  • Talent review and development within the Finance team.
  • Business process improvements and optimization.
  • Mergers, acquisitions, and associated projects.
  • Ad hoc projects and financial analyses as needed.
  • WHAT TO EXPECT

    Within 30 Days :

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the financial reporting process, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  • Gain insight into the primary accounting and trust functions across all operating companies, including Manion Wilkins.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with department and entity leaders to understand their functions, structures, and responsibilities.
  • Within 60 Days :

  • Review Finance team resources and workloads to identify gaps or opportunities.
  • Develop a comprehensive resource plan for the next 12, 24, and 36 months.
  • Within 90 Days :

  • Review and refine the existing 5-year Finance strategy plan, aligning it with organizational goals.
  • THIS IS YOU

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in senior finance and accounting roles, including leading teams.
  • Experience in both public practice and private industry is an asset.
  • Strong technical accounting expertise with practical IFRS experience.
  • Proficiency in advanced computer skills, including Excel and ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities within strict timelines.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust across the organization.
  • System implementation experience is an asset.

  • YOUR COMPENSATION

    At the time of this posting, the estimated annual base salary for this position is $180,000-$200,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and education / training. This range reflects the annual base salary only and does not encompass our comprehensive total rewards, benefits, and potential bonuses that we proudly offer.
