JOB PURPOSE

The SQE (Supplier Quality Engineer) is dedicated to oversee supplier quality management system as well as quality assurance through all stages and processes of project development and product manufacturing to ensure the supplier can continuously meet and / or exceed our expectations on quality of products, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the development of new suppliers and maintaining existing relationships
  • Performing survey for new supplier onboarding
  • Conducting customer and supplier audits as required
  • Coordinating with supplier for new project launches
  • Clarifying specifications and applicable standards with suppliers in upfront
  • Monitoring new project launch schedules following APQP
  • Involved in product / process design and validation for DFM and error proofing
  • Optimizing vendor processes for cost reduction and continuous improvements
  • Evaluating supplier performance
  • Communicating with suppliers for nonconformances
  • Using quality tools to address root causes and take corrective actions

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Post secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3-5+ years of experience with ISO9001 and IATF16949 quality management systems
  • 5+ years of experience managing vendors and suppliers
  • Experienced on OE Tier 1 business
  • Proven experience working with AIAG Requirements
  • Proven experience with PPAP and CMM
  • Proven understanding on statistical analysis
  • Experience using Minitab is considered an asset
  • Understanding global engineering standards such as ASTM, ASME, EN, DIN, GB / T, etc.
  • Fundamental knowledge on GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Understanding forging, casting, stamping, sintering, welding, heat treatment processes.
  • Excellent attention to details
  • MS software skills on Words, Excel, PowerPoint, Team, etc.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
