- PT Day on 2nd Floor – 7 am – 3pm - 30hrs biweekly
- PT Nights on 2nd Floor – 11 pm – 7am - 30hrs biweekly
- PT Days on 4th Floor – 7 am – 3pm - 30hrs biweekly
We’re actively hiring Unregulated Care Providers (UCPs) to make a meaningful impact in our retirement community, supporting Independent, Assisted, and Transitional Care Living
The UCP is responsible for providing the highest degree of quality care and services by administering medication and treatments in a safe organized manner by law and in accordance with prevailing practices as set out by the pharmacy
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Reviews, reads, documents and communicates pertinent information about residentsAdministers / assists / observes medications and treatments for each resident using the medication administration record (MAR)Medications are given according to times as directed by the Physician's orderDocuments and initials as medications are given; appropriate documentation is completed for refusal or missed dosesMaintains confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication among other residentsMaintains open communication with residents and their familiesAs needed, support residents with their activities of daily living including eating, dressing, hygiene and groomingObtain vital signs as required, assist with emergency situationsOther duties as assignedPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Stretching / reaching on a regular frequency throughout the shift as an essential job functionWalking, with possibility of some upstairs walking, as a major job functionStanding, for lengths of time as a major job functionMust be able to move, lift or push equipment and supplies of various sizes and weightsMust have visual and hearing acuity to recognize the need of assistance required by residents or staffHEALTH AND SAFETY :
Is aware of employee's responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures as set out in the employee safety program handbook and departmental manualsWorks safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and ResidentsDoes not operate or use faulty equipmentWears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, S.D.S. or residence policyParticipates in fire safety demonstrations and fire drills and knows the residence fire and disaster plansQUALIFICATIONS :
Successful completion of Personal Service Worker certificate programSuccessful completion of Medication Administration training program / UCP certificationExperience working as a UCP in retirement setting an assetAdditional dementia related or GPA training preferredAbility to work independently and / or as a member of a teamCurrent CPR certificationExperience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging processVulnerable Sector CheckExcellent customer service skills – possess a can-do attitude to promote a positive work environment for the entire teamWE OFFER :
