Job description

Rygiel Supports for Community Living is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals in the community who have a developmental disability, as well as other varying abilities. Our mandate is to enable each person to lead a fulfilled and participatory life within the community.  Rygiel will be embarking on the "Journey to Belonging : Choice and Inclusion." This initiative lays out the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services’ long-term vision for developmental services in Ontario. Our goal is to ensure that people with developmental disabilities are fully supported to participate in their communities. Position Summary  Rygiel is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager to lead and oversee key organizational priorities, including quality improvement, staff education, compliance, and accreditation, while also supervising the managers of our residential congregate living programs. This leadership role is integral to ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-directed services that promote choice, belonging, and meaningful community inclusion for individuals supported by Rygiel.  Key Responsibilities  1. Quality, Compliance, and Accreditation  Quality Improvement :   Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance framework that aligns with organizational values, best practices, and legislative requirements.  Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for service improvement and implement evidence-based strategies.  Lead the annual review and revision of policies and procedures to ensure alignment with evolving standards.  Monitor and evaluate service delivery metrics, ensuring adherence to organizational and regulatory standards.   Compliance and Accreditation :   Maintain up-to-date knowledge to ensure organizational compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) under the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS).  Prepare and lead the organization through accreditation processes, ensuring adherence to established timelines and standards.  Oversee regular internal audits, corrective actions, and risk management plans.  2. Education and Staff Development  Develop and facilitate a robust education and training program for all staff, with a focus on :    Person-directed approaches, choice, and belonging.  Safe and effective practices for residential congregate living.  Provide education and oversight of pharmacology and controlled acts training.  Compliance with QAM and accreditation standards.  Leadership and professional development for managers and staff.  Ensure training programs are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to evolving needs.  Evaluate training outcomes and implement continuous improvement strategies.  In conjunction with the Human Resources department, develop leadership training programs for mid-level and emerging leaders.   3. Oversight of Residential Congregate Living Programs  Provide leadership and mentorship to managers overseeing residential congregate living programs, ensuring alignment with Rygiel’s mission, vision, and values.  Liaison with pharmacy to address needs of individuals supported and any concerns related to service delivery.  Monitor program performance, service delivery, and staff engagement to ensure high-quality, person-directed supports for individuals.  Collaborate with managers to address challenges, manage risks, and implement innovative solutions.  Ensure staffing levels, budgets, and resources are effectively managed across programs.  Address escalation of individuals supported and their families to address and resolve concerns.  4. Leadership and Collaboration  Act as a key member of Rygiel’s Senior leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and organizational growth.  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to promote innovation and continuous improvement.  Foster a culture of accountability, learning, and professional growth across the organization.  Policy and Procedure development as assigned. Qualifications  Education :   Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse  Current registration with the CNO  Experience :   Minimum of 5 years of progressive Nursing leadership experience, including experience in quality improvement, compliance, accreditation, and risk management.  Proven track record of successfully managing residential congregate living programs or similar services.  Skills and Knowledge :   Strong understanding of person-directed approaches, choice, and belonging.  Familiarity with compliance, ministry guidelines, and accreditation standards.  Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.  Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement improvements.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HRIS and compliance tracking tools.  Core Competencies  Commitment to Rygiel’s mission of fostering belonging, respect, and choice for individuals with disabilities.  Ability to balance strategic leadership with day-to-day operational oversight.  Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on collaboration and innovation.  Passion for mentoring and developing teams.  Working Conditions  Office-based with regular visits to residential program sites.  Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.  Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.  Why Join Rygiel?  At Rygiel, you will be part of a passionate team dedicated to creating meaningful change and fostering inclusive communities.
