Sandvik’s Winnipeg PU is seeking a Design Engineer Intern(8 Month Term). This role requiresinterns specializing in mechanical engineering to support the Engineering team in the developmentofInTheHole (ITH) Underground Drills.Responsibilities include CAD modeling, engineeringcalculationsand preparation of drawings.

What you will be doing

• Utilize CAD software to develop andrefine designs in support of the Engineering team.

• Assistin the creation and release of engineering drawings and supporting documentation.

• Collaborate with team members, internal and external.

• Ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to work safely in the working environment.Alwaysensuringwork in compliance with Sandvik’ssafety management program.

• Other duties as assigned.

What you will bring along

• Enrolled in a recognizedengineering or technology program.

• Eligible to work in Canada.

• A passion fordesign,with a background in mechanical,hydraulicand power trainsystemis considered an asset.

• CADmodeling experience(SolidworksorNX experience is considered an asset).

• Familiarity with welded designs, hydraulic, pneumatic & compressed air systems, power trains, control systems, machine design.

• Detail orientatedandcapableof interpreting technical documentation.

• Strong communication,teamworkandproblem-solvingskills.

• Highly organized, self-motivatedand able to manage tasks independently.
