Infoway is seeking a dynamic and visionary Product Director with a deep understanding of healthcare data and its use for interoperability. This individual will have ultimate accountability for the product’s success, driving both the product strategy, product management, technology development and the business development/program management aspects to ensure widespread adoption and long‑term impact. This is a leadership role requiring a strategic thinker with a proven track record of delivering complex, high‑impact initiatives.
CA Core+ is Canada’s national set of HL7 FHIR profiles designed to enable consistent, secure, and interoperable health data exchange across provincial and territorial systems. It provides standardized data elements, value sets, and implementation guidelines that form the backbone of pan‑Canadian interoperability and support clinical workflows. Developed collaboratively by Canada Health Infoway and stakeholders and aligned to the Canadian Institute for Health Information’s (CIHI) pan‑Canadian Health Data Content Framework (pCHDCF), CA Core+ ensures alignment with international standards while addressing Canada‑specific requirements for scalable, conformance‑tested solutions.
10+ years of experience in healthcare IT or a related field, with a focus on interoperability and digital health solutions.
7+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing complex programs, projects and initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
5+ years of experience in product management, delivery and execution, with a demonstrated understanding of how to deliver and implement products from conception to initial pilot and evolution.
5+ years of experience in data content standards or terminology, familiar with applicable Health IT standards (such as HL7, IHE, SNOMED CT, pCLOCD, etc.). Familiarity with concepts such as IHE integration profiles, FHIR profiling, implementation guides, terminology artifacts is considered an asset.
Superior ability to develop product roadmaps and program delivery plans to execute against stated objectives.
Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, build consensus, and drive strategic initiatives in a complex environment.
Phenomenal written and verbal communications skills. Tactically, excellent preparation and presentation skills to facilitate engagements with executive audiences, and experience in writing formal briefing notes and proposals and explaining and articulating end‑user requirements.
Self‑starter: High level of initiative and self‑direction displayed.
Understanding of the healthcare technology landscape as it relates to the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and the Hospital Information System (HIS) industries is an asset.
Experience working with or interacting with provincial or territorial government stakeholders, is an asset.
Experience supporting clinical change management and adoption activities, including workflow analysis and training, is an asset.
Hands on experience with system integrations (e.g., APIs), documentation and implementation guides, is an asset.
Some travel may be required.
