Job Description
CAMH Education is currently seeking a full‑time, contract CH&E Coordinator (Evaluation Specialist) reporting to the Manager, Education Evaluation & Quality Improvement. The Evaluation Specialist will work independently and with a small team to lead and conduct different types of evaluations (needs assessment, process and outcome) for internal and external stakeholders such as other organizations and institutions. The role will support the development and implementation of multiple education evaluation projects, including projects related to Thriving Minds, the Centre of Excellence’s Education Programs and Integrated Youth Services.
Requirements for the role include a proven track record in program evaluation within the health sciences, coordination of multiple projects simultaneously, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The Evaluation Specialist will play a key role in implementing and evaluating various education initiatives and projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and implement evaluation and quality improvement projects for education and training, including development of logic models, evaluation frameworks / plans and evaluation & data visualization tools, and writing professional evaluation reports.
- Monitor day‑to‑day aspects of evaluation and quality improvement projects.
- Contribute to the development of RFPs, grants and new project proposals to internal and external parties.
- Engage stakeholders and ensure their buy‑in and the integrity of evaluation and service data.
- Produce professional reports, papers and presentations (e.g., writing, fact‑checking, editing).
- Prepare evaluation materials (e.g., questionnaires, consent forms, letters) for internal initiatives and external revenue‑generating projects.
- Conduct data collection using RedCap and analyze collected data in R or SPSS.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis and reporting for various evaluation projects.
- Review and conduct literature reviews on a regular basis.
- Provide support to programs related to evaluation and quality improvement projects, including assistance with Research Ethics Board (REB) and QPER applications.
- Participate in special projects and committees as assigned by Manager or Director.
- Develop presentation slide decks or reports for communicating and disseminating evaluation findings.
- Present evaluation findings to internal and external stakeholders, in collaboration with the Manager or independently as required.
- Work with key stakeholders in all aspects of evaluation (e.g., clients, families, students, staff, managers, directors).
- Perform additional evaluation duties as assigned by the Manager.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications :
Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least three years of evaluation experience in mental health or health services.Experience with online survey applications, including RedCap, and development of qualitative and quantitative evaluation tools.Experience in developing, managing and integrating databases and conducting evaluations at a program level.Familiarity with mental health and addiction services research or evaluation, Implementation Science frameworks or Quality Improvement models.Demonstrated project coordination and program evaluation experience, with the ability to meet deadlines.Full fluency with at least one statistical package among SPSS, R or Python; experience with qualitative software (e.g., NVIVO).Strong PC software skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel) and Internet search engines.Strong interpersonal, communication (oral / written), creative problem‑solving and organizational skills.Ability for self‑directed learning and working, collaboration and teamwork, and independent work with minimal supervision.Ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds and positions, including leadership.Bilingualism (French / English) and experience working with diverse populations would be an asset.Location : 1025 Queens Street West, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
